Network Engineer

Our client is looking for a NETWORK ENGINEER located in Metro Detroit, MI.

SUMMARY

Our client is a collaborative organization with a small, close-knit IT team supporting approximately 85 100 users, most of whom work remotely. They are seeking a strong, well-rounded Network Engineer to join their team. This is a primarily remote position with occasional onsite requirements and an opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and working across a broad range of infrastructure technologies.

The ideal candidate will have strong networking experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a small IT environment. Someone who is approachable, adaptable, has a good sense of humor, and does not take themselves too seriously will fit well within the team culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administer and support enterprise network infrastructure, including Cisco and Fortinet technologies.

• Support VMware and Nutanix environments, including Prism and Prism Central.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain network and infrastructure systems.

• Support servers, virtualization, connectivity, security, and other infrastructure technologies.

• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, projects, troubleshooting, and ongoing technology improvements.

• Provide advanced technical support and assist with escalated issues from the Help Desk.

• Work collaboratively with IT team members and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users.

• Support VoIP and telecommunications infrastructure, including Mitel systems.

• Work with vendors and service providers as needed.

• Learn and support new technologies as the organization's infrastructure evolves.

• Assist with AWS infrastructure and storage environments as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of network/infrastructure experience preferred.

• Strong experience with enterprise networking, including Cisco and/or Fortinet.

• Experience with VMware and/or Nutanix is highly desirable.

• Experience with VoIP and contact center infrastructure is a plus.

• AWS experience is a plus, but not required.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is highly preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• Ability to work independently while being a collaborative member of a small IT team.

• Must be comfortable wearing multiple hats and supporting a variety of IT responsibilities.
