Job Summary (SharePoint Product Specialist NCDOT, Engineering Content Management Group)

- Serve as a SharePoint Product Specialist (Business Analyst) for the NCDOT Engineering Application Services Department.
- Draft business requirements and design SharePoint and web-based business solutions for Operations and Traffic business processes.
- Break down solution designs into actionable work items, track status, and manage project communication and dependencies.
- Coordinate and prioritize SharePoint and web-based projects, ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables with thorough documentation.
- Perform quality assurance (QA) testing, coordinate test validation, and manage rollout of solutions.
- Develop, deliver, and document training materials for new or re-engineered business processes and IT applications.
- Collaborate with clients to prototype, refine, test, and debug applications and processes.
- Provide guidance and support to team members and ensure operational support is arranged.
- Evaluate and re-engineer business processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
- Prepare clear technical training materials and user documentation.
- Maintain strong communication with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Utilize project management and product ownership best practices throughout the system development life cycle.
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies, and requirements.
- Use own equipment to access a virtual workspace; no programming/coding is involved.
- Position requires local presence in the Triangle region of North Carolina, with occasional in-person meetings.

Required Experience/Skills:
- 5+ years as a Business Analyst, including SharePoint solution design (custom lists, libraries, content types).
- Experience designing and testing SharePoint and web-based content management solutions.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Experience evaluating and re-engineering business processes.
- Ability to write clear technical training materials and user documentation.
- Knowledge of application development life cycle.
- Extensive SharePoint designer/owner experience.

Preferred Experience/Skills:
- SharePoint Business Analyst role experience.
- Quality Assurance testing and application support experience.
- Familiarity with NCDOT Operations and Traffic business processes.
- Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodology, Team Foundation Server (TFS) or Azure DevOps, and Balsamiq.
