    Help shape the future of accountable care with TeamHealth! We are seeking an accomplished physician executive to serve as ACO national medical director; a highly visible leadership role focused on driving the growth and expansion of innovative post-acute care Accountable Care Organization initiatives. This unique opportunity combines leadership of a high-performing ACO helping to develop and expand a new ACO platform supporting physician groups, post-acute care organizations, and healthcare partners.

    Working closely with executive leadership and key stakeholders, you will serve as a physician strategist and ambassador focused on growth, network development, and accountable care success. This position is primarily strategic and administrative in nature and offers a chance to influence the future of value-based healthcare on a national scale.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership

    • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute ACO growth strategies
    • Support the expansion and market development of post-acute care ACO initiatives
    • Provide physician perspective on accountable care, population health, and value-based reimbursement models
    • Evaluate healthcare trends, market opportunities, regulatory changes, and partnerships
    • Support organizational planning and long-term growth objectives

    Business Development & Network Growth

    • Partner with business development leadership to identify and cultivate new ACO participants and strategic relationships
    • Participate in executive presentations and stakeholder meetings
    • Serve as the physician representative for prospective physician groups, healthcare organizations, and post-acute operators
    • Assist with participant onboarding, due diligence, and network expansion efforts
    • Represent the organization at conferences, industry events, and value-based care forums

    Executive Relationship Management

    • Develop trusted relationships with physician leaders, healthcare executives, and strategic partners
    • Serve as a physician ambassador for ACO programs and value-based care initiatives
    • Support initiatives that strengthen participation and alignment
    • Facilitate collaboration among physician groups, healthcare organizations, and post-acute care clinicians

    Value-Based Care Strategy

    • Provide subject matter expertise in MSSP, accountable care, population health, and risk-based reimbursement models
    • Collaborate with internal teams to improve outcomes and performance
    • Interpret healthcare performance data and communicate insights to internal and external stakeholders
    • Support initiatives focused on improving care coordination, reducing unnecessary utilization, and enhancing beneficiary outcomes

    Qualifications

    Required

    • MD or DO degree
    • Active, unrestricted medical license
    • Board certification in IM, FM, or related specialty
    • Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience
    • Minimum of 5 years of physician leadership experience
    • Experience in value-based care, ACOs, population health, post-acute care, or risk-based reimbursement models
    • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills
    • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities

    Preferred

    • Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) experience
    • Post-acute care leadership experience
    • Population health management expertise
    • Experience supporting healthcare growth or network development
    • MBA, MHA, MPH, or similar advanced degree
