Get to Know Your Team:Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is an 820,000-square-foot facility that offers the latest medical programs, cutting-edge technology, and patient-focused care that includes 365 beds, 1,200+ employees, and a 27-bed Emergency Room/Fast Track Unit. ResponsibilitiesThe MRI Technologist is responsible for producing diagnostic images safely using MRI technology.Reviews patients chart and/or physicians order to determine optimal imaging parameters for suspected pathologySelects the proper imaging coil for the studyPerforms imaging studies using proper scanning techniques and protocolsWorks with physicians to optimize MRI sequences to produce the highest quality MRI imageAdministers contrast media based on the patients height and weight when ordered, including GFR screening and lab workScreens patients and family members for MRI safety and contraindicationsVerifies pregnancy status, when appropriate Obtains MRI consent documentation when appropriateDocuments diagnostic and patient data in the appropriate recordAdministers MRI safety, screens patients for contraindication (i.e., foreign bodies, medical indications)Determines whether the patient has been appropriately prepared for the procedureOn-call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policyPerforms daily clerical duties, which include the use of HIS systems, patient scheduling, and other computer systems as added by the hospitalPerform any and all other duties assigned QualificationsJob Requirements:High School Graduate/ GED required or Diploma from a Vocational/Technical school1 years experienceMust be MRI certified within one year of hireBLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.Maintains CEU Credits.Preferred Job Requirements:2-4 years experienceAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certificate.Prior MRI experience.Experience with imaging equipment (scanners), patient care equipment, and filming equipment.Experience with power injectors and storage devices.Experience with Teleradiology system/PACS System. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
