Description

Position Overview

To begin as soon as possible with the right candidate: We are seeking a full-time Supporting Educator to primarily assist our infants (6 weeks \u2013 18 months) and provide float support in our 18-month \u2013 3-year-old classroom. This hands-on role is deeply child-focused, supporting the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of our youngest learners while collaborating closely with lead educators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily care, routines, and learning experiences for infants and toddlers.
  • Float between classrooms as needed to assist the 18-month \u2013 3-year-old program.
  • Maintain a safe, nurturing, and prepared environment in accordance with Montessori principles.
  • Collaborate with lead educators to observe, document, and support each child's developmental progress.
  • Ensure compliance with Wisconsin DCF licensing regulations and school policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Engage in Anti-Bias, Anti-Racism, Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging work within the classroom and organization.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with infants and toddlers; Montessori experience a strong plus but not required.
  • Must be or become Wisconsin Registry eligible within 6 months of hire (via early childhood credits or approved web-based training).
  • Current or ability to obtain CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
  • Completion of Staff Health Report by a physician within 3 months of hire.
  • Strong commitment to learning and implementing Montessori methods in alignment with AMI principles.
  • Compassionate, patient, flexible, and able to work collaboratively with a team of educators and families.
  • Physically capable of working with children on the floor, stairs, and playground, lifting materials and furniture, and maintaining the classroom environment.
  • Knowledge of child development

Required Within 90 Days of Hire

  • CPR certification.
  • Registry account and in progress or completion of required courses if no Early Childhood Education credits completed
  • Background check and fingerprints.
  • Health report and TB test.
  • Mandated Reporter Training (CAN) and other training required by DPI
  • Copy of transcripts from highest form of education completed (high school diploma or equivalent at a minimum)

  • Embrace outdoor activities and collaborative teamwork.

Safety and Supervision

  • Maintain awareness of all children's whereabouts at all times.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards in the classroom and outdoor environments.
  • Follow DCF adult-to-child ratios
  • Know and respond appropriately to medical needs and allergies of children under supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety drill expectations.
