    Description

    At Browning Day, our portfolio spans a broad range of project types within civic, cultural, healthcare, higher education, faith-based, hospitality, mixed-use, preservation and reuse, sports and wellness, and the workplace. Our success is based on the client's vision coming to life and includes a team of Architects, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, and support staff who solve complex design problems. We are seeking a Project Manager who will add their skills and creativity to our diverse projects.

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    • The role will manage project schedules, staffing, fee development, financial performance, contractual compliance, documentation, client interaction, consultant oversight, overall project administration, and lead the production team.
    • Integral in guiding the internal team and external consultants working toward the common goal.
    • Mentor team members and assist in staff performance evaluations.
    • Support focused marketing and business development initiatives.
    • Provide regular status updates to the Studio Director and Principal-in-Charge.
    • Conduct programming efforts, including information gathering, site/building analysis, and site/building inventory of existing conditions, identifying opportunities and constraints.
    • Forecast and adjust staffing needs to meet project scope.
    • Ensure documentation and timely distribution of all meeting notes to the project teams.
    • Incorporate and consider sustainable design solutions into all projects.
    • Coordinate QA/QC and design reviews at each project phase.
    • Oversee the construction administration phase, responding to RFIs, ASIs, shop drawings, field site reviews, and reports.
    • Lead project teams in all stages of the project, from planning and concept design to construction documents and site visits.
    • Partner with Human Resources (HR) on performance management of team members, emerging leaders, recruiting, training, and onboarding new hires.
    • Incorporates and considers sustainable design solutions into all projects.
    • Responsibilities vary based on experience, interests, and business needs

    REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Passion for the industry and leading teams toward a common goal.
    • Foster mutual trust and confidence by developing solid relationships (internal and external).
    • Advanced creative talent in the communication of complex design concepts.
    • Advanced skill in prioritizing multiple tasks/projects for the teams in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines and provide high-quality service to clients.
    • Ability to solve problems, specifically interpreting multiple stakeholders' input.
    • In-depth understanding of or ability to learn leadership and management fundamentals by partnering with HR to ensure compliance with the company’s best practices and policies.
    • Advanced ability to notice details, review, write, and edit.
    • Excellent communicator: verbal, written, training, and public speaking.
    • Proficient-to-advanced knowledge of the following:
      • Site and building regulations and safety/ADA/FHA/zoning code.
      • Construction methodology and material application
      • Zoning, codes, ADA/FHA/accessibility requirements, and applicable codes for site design considerations.
    • Proficient-to-advanced experience in the following:
      • MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
      • Scheduling software (Team Gantt);
      • Sketchup, Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D rendering software (Lumion);
      • Online project management software.
    • 10-plus years in a related field of Architecture.
    • Preferred 10+ years of professional experience in architecture, with 5 years in leading projects.
    • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience.
    • Preferred: Licensed Architect or working toward licensure.
    • Satisfactory completion of a background screening.
