Our client needs a Data Engineer to own data components with confidence and reliability. Build pipelines or infrastructure that others can depend on with observability, documentation, and quality built in from day one. Expand your impact beyond individual tickets and raise the effectiveness of the entire team.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop data transformation pipelines using dbt to model and structure data in the warehouse.
• Build and maintain scalable data models following common DBT patterns (e.g., raw → staging → marts).
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries to transform, validate, and analyze large datasets.
• Work with modern data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift.
• Manage and query data in the AWS ecosystem using tools such as Amazon Athena and AWS Glue.
• Design and maintain structured datasets stored in data lake environments using formats like Apache Iceberg.
• Develop and maintain data workflows and automation using Python.
• Collaborate with engineering and analytics teams to deliver clean, reliable datasets for reporting and analytics.
• Use version control systems such as GitHub or GitLab for managing code and changes.
• Leverage AI tools (preferably Claude or similar) to improve productivity in development and data workflows.

Required Skills:

• 3-5 years of experience
• DBT experience
• DBT modeling stages
• Version control
• Familiar with GitHub or GitLab.
• Data warehouse experience
• SQL fundamentals
• Python experience- Comfortable using Python in data workflows
• AI fluency
• Must be very familiar with AI tools. Preference for experience using Claude in real workflows, not just casual exposure.

Bonus Skills:

• Infrastructure experience
• Real-time streaming experience
