Role Description:

We are seeking compassionate and committed Mentors to support participants in our structured mentorship program. This volunteer role focuses on building supportive, goal-oriented relationships and contributing to a positive, engaging mentorship experience.

This is a 9–12 month minimum commitment, with the opportunity to renew.

Mentors play a vital role in guiding participants through regular check-ins, shared learning, and personal development over the course of the program cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, supportive mentorship to assigned participant(s) throughout the program.
  • Participate in regular one-on-one or small-group mentorship sessions as scheduled.
  • Support mentees in setting goals, building skills, and navigating challenges.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment during all mentorship interactions.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with participants and program leadership.
  • Document session participation and engagement as required.
  • Attend periodic mentor check-ins, trainings, or program meetings.
  • For the on-call Mentor: provide flexible coverage support when additional mentor capacity is needed.

Qualifications:

  • Required languages: Fluency in English OR English + Spanish
  • Strong interpersonal, active listening, and communication skills.
  • Ability to commit reliably to scheduled mentorship sessions.
  • Comfort working within program guidelines and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Prior mentorship, coaching, or volunteer experience is an asset but not required.
  • Genuine interest in mental health, personal development, and community support.
