Work in a patient-focused acute care setting
Medical Surgical RN Job Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical and surgical conditions.
Perform patient assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
Monitor patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to providers.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and ancillary staff to ensure quality patient outcomes.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, discharge planning, and recovery.
Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Education & Certification Requirements
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Kansas.
Current BLS certification required.
ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain within required timeframe.
Previous Medical Surgical nursing experience preferred.
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Strong assessment and clinical decision-making abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
