Medical Assistant

This applies to direct care staff (Examples: RN, LPN, Nurse Aides, Therapists) referred to Kentucky nursing facilities, assisted living communities, or long-term care facilities, in accordance with KRS 216.793. Job Details:
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–6:30 PM; Saturday–Sunday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM (Facility operates 7 days a week)

Contract Length: 17 Weeks
Pay Range: $21.00 to $23.00/hour*
Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Duties:

• Assist providers with daily clinical procedures and patient care, including interviewing patients, collecting medical histories, verifying patient information, and preparing patients for examinations.
• Obtain and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, weight, and other preliminary physical measurements.
• Administer medications, injections, and immunizations; perform venipuncture, blood draws, EKGs, spirometry, and flu and strep testing.
• Process patient referrals, assist with medication refills, scheduling, and other administrative tasks as needed.
• Maintain medical supplies and equipment, follow infection control and safety procedures, and ensure patient records remain accurate and confidential.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant diploma or technical certificate.

• License(s): Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA).

• Certification(s): CPR certification upon hire or ability to obtain within 30 days.

• Years of Experience: 1+ year of clinical experience

• Skills/Specialties/Technology: (EMR/EHR)
