Mechanical / Industrial / Process EngineerPenn Wood Products, Inc. engineering group is located in East Berlin, PA.NOTE: Salary is subject to skillset and experience.Essential Functions of Job:Work on high priority manufacturing improvement projects in the plant: These improvement projects could include: Projects to improve speed of manufacturing, improve quality or reduce defects, automate parts of the manufacturing process/value stream, improve safety of the plant, improve environmental conditions and/or air emissions for the plant, and increase the Overall Equipment Effectiveness for production lines/value streams.Study/analyze the potential improvement opportunities, help calculate potential savings, work with staff and outside vendors to provide solution options, help cost justify the project, and then deliver great project management leadership and execute the actual improvement.Manage a number of projects at one time and provide top management & corporate personnel with timeline/status of each project.Drive projects and help with annual budget planning of all projects.Analyze all pertinent manufacturing data including Productivity, Quality, Delivery, Safety, Environmental, and Maintenance data and look for opportunities for improvement projects.Work with suppliers to spec out equipment for improvement projectsDesigning and conducting pilot and production scale processes and tests, documenting and evaluating data, and writing technical reportsIdentifying process equipment through testing, establishing equipment operating parameters, and providing process flows diagramsSpecifying, installing, and commissioning new process equipment.Preparing proper documentation of project work, including engineering calculations, process design documentation, and process test reportsWorking with multidisciplinary teams including personnel from manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering, equipment manufacturersDesigning, troubleshooting and optimizing manufacturing processes and productsKey Competencies:Strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skillsA desire to work hands-on in the laboratory and manufacturing environments with equipment & products.Ability to apply understanding of sciences (chemistry, engineering) and mathematics to provide technical support to the businessExcellent verbal and written communication skillsThe ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work both independently and in multidisciplinary groups/teams with a high level of motivationGood organizational and interpersonal skills along with creativity, flexibility, and initiativeProficiency with common Windows based computer software programs, including Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access.Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD, Robotics, and programming languages is preferredRequirements:Eligibility to work in the United States for any employerA valid Drivers' License and a means of reliable transportationAbility to lift fifty poundsBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance
