Description

Our client, a manufacturing company based in Erie, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of equipment used in industrial and heavy machinery applications. This role works closely with production, quality, and R&D teams to bring new products from concept through manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with mechanical design, CAD modeling, and product testing in a manufacturing environment. This is an on-site position requiring regular collaboration with shop floor personnel and cross-functional engineering teams.

This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity with a company known for its long-standing presence in the regional manufacturing sector.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software
  • Develop and review engineering drawings and specifications
  • Conduct tolerance analysis and structural calculations
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve manufacturing issues
  • Support prototype builds and product testing
  • Evaluate and recommend materials and manufacturing processes
  • Prepare technical documentation and design reports
  • Participate in design reviews with cross-functional teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 5 or more years of mechanical design experience
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
  • Experience with GD&T and engineering tolerancing
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining and welding
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
