Pay Range: $32.00-$35.00 per hour
 

Job Description: We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer 2 to support current product engineering initiatives for G3600 and C280 engine programs. This role is responsible for researching, designing, analyzing, and improving mechanical products, systems, and processes while collaborating with engineering, quality, and operations teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and engine knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and experience interpreting technical drawings and engineering documentation in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for G3600 and C280 engine current product programs.
• Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test mechanical products, tools, engines, machines, and related equipment.
• Analyze customer specifications, manuals, and design proposals to evaluate project feasibility, timelines, and costs.
• Investigate equipment failures and operational issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Resolve factory issues and support built-in quality improvement projects.
• Review engine orders and implement updates based on approved design improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering design teams to approve and implement production changes.
• Assist with creating and reviewing engineering drawings, sketches, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Work closely with engineering design, shop quality, and operations teams to support manufacturing objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Strong mechanical and engine knowledge, including experience with engines, automotive equipment, or agricultural equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and computer-generated reports.
• Ability to create sketches, engineering drawings, and perform common engineering calculations.
• Experience with engineering-related computer applications and software, including CAD tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and maintain strong attention to detail.
• Must be eligible to work in an export-controlled environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 to 4 years of mechanical design experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
• Associate degree with 4 or more years of related experience.
• Experience with Caterpillar products or manufacturing environments.
• Experience using CREO, 3D CAD, and Teamcenter Visualization.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams.
