DESCRIPTION: The School District is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Fleet Mechanic to maintain a diverse inventory of vehicles. This role is critical to ensuring the safety and reliability of our transportation system, primarily focusing on our fleet of Type C and D school buses, heavy-duty trucks, and district support vehicles. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in diesel engines with the flexibility to handle general automotive repairs for a K-12 public school environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in automobile, truck, school bus repair
• High School Diploma or equivalent. technical degree or certification in Diesel Mechanics or Automotive Technology, preferred.
• Valid NJ Driver's License
• Possess (or be able to obtain) a valid Class B CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Criminal history background check by the Department of Education
• Certificate of good health by school doctor, including State required Mantoux Test
• Proof of citizenship or registration
