Our client, a leader in the power sports industry, is seeking an experienced Marketing Data Analyst for a 6 month contract assignment in Plymouth, MN. This role is hybrid, onsite three days a week.
Position Overview:
The Data Analyst will play a critical role in strengthening the data foundation that supports marketing, demand, retail, and business performance reporting. This role is highly technical and hands-on, with a strong emphasis on Snowflake, SQL development, data validation, and Power BI reporting ownership. The analyst will work closely with business partners, analytics teams, and data engineering to ensure trusted data is accessible, well-structured, and translated into reporting and insights that support decision-making. Success in this role requires curiosity, strong technical problem-solving, and the ability to investigate raw data, identify root causes, and surface actionable insights that improve business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Own, maintain, and improve existing Power BI dashboards, datasets, metric logic, and reporting documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, usability, and business relevance.
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries in Snowflake to support reporting, analysis, data validation, and recurring business needs.
- Partner with data engineering teams to strengthen curated data assets, improve data quality, and enhance the Snowflake data foundation.
- Conduct deep dives into raw data to investigate business questions, explain variance, identify trends, and uncover actionable insights.
- Perform root cause analysis when reporting, data pipelines, metrics, or business performance indicators produce unexpected results.
- Translate business needs into clear data requirements, reporting specifications, scalable datasets, and repeatable analytical solutions.
- Collaborate with marketing, analytics, retail, and technical partners to ensure reporting outputs are trusted, actionable, and aligned to business priorities.
Qualifications:- Bachelors degree in analytics, data science, information systems, business, statistics, economics, marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 3+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a data-focused role.
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying, joining, transforming, troubleshooting, and validating large datasets.
- Experience working in Snowflake or a similar modern cloud data warehouse.
- Experience owning, maintaining, and improving Power BI dashboards, datasets, reporting logic, and metric definitions.
- Ability to investigate raw data, identify data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Preferred experience with DAX, Power Query, data modeling, marketing analytics, retail analytics, or customer journey reporting.
