We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Schedule:
Must be available to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Position Overview:
This position is ideal for someone with a basic understanding of hand tools and strong mechanical aptitude who is looking to develop skills in the turf equipment maintenance at a top-level facility.Working alongside an experienced Head Mechanic, the Assistant Mechanic will be exposed to all aspects of maintaining and repairing golf course equipment, including mowers, utility vehicles, sprayers, tractors, and small engines. Our goal is to develop your mechanical knowledge, diagnostic skills, and preventative maintenance practices in a professional shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists with routine maintenance and repair of golf course equipment.
Assists with reel and bed knife grinding and cutting unit setup.
Performs daily equipment and cutting unit checks for next-day use.
Uses hand tools safely and correctly.
Performs oil changes, blade maintenance, lubrication, and inspection.
Assists with troubleshooting and repair of mechanical issues under supervision.
Maintains a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Supports daily equipment readiness for course operations.
Helps with maintenance of the golf course in the morning when extra help is needed (e.g., mowing, raking, watering, etc.).

Qualifications:
Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
Team-oriented attitude and good communication skills.
Ambition to grow into a lead or head equipment manager position over time.
Basic understanding of hand tools required.
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Previous mechanical, small engine, automotive, or equipment experience preferred but not required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk or stand for extended periods.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail required.
