Description

Manufacturing Supervisor Position

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Supervisor leads daily production execution in a growing beverage manufacturing operation. This person turns the production plan into safe, compliant and measurable results by leading the team, maintaining standards, using operating data and resolving barriers. The role is the primary leader for production performance on the assigned shift and reports to the Director of Operations. It works closely with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain and other functions to improve the broader operation, while those functions retain ownership of their respective work.

Our CASIC values guide how this leader works: Collaboration across teams, Accountability for results and commitments, a Solutions-Driven response to problems, Integrity in reporting and decisions, and a Champion Mindset that develops people and keeps improvement moving.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead shift startup, line readiness, staffing assignments and daily execution across production lines. Adjust labor and priorities as conditions change, and communicate schedule risks and results promptly.
  • Direct and coach approximately 15 production employees, including supervisory and line lead personnel. Set clear expectations, delegate work, train and cross-train employees, conduct performance reviews and address performance or conduct concerns consistently.
  • Participate in hiring and selection; administer discipline and recommend terminations in accordance with company practices. Approve production PTO, adjust staffing and assign overtime within company guidelines and operational needs.
  • Track and act on throughput, units per person, uptime, first pass yield, downtime, waste and other applicable production measures. Maintain accurate shift records and use spreadsheets, dashboards and digital systems to identify trends, explain variance and follow corrective actions through completion.
  • Own production-floor adherence to approved GMP, food safety, quality, sanitation, process control, documentation and product traceability requirements. Stop or contain questionable production, escalate concerns immediately and partner with Quality or Compliance on disposition and corrective action.
  • Promote safe work practices, housekeeping and organized work areas. Address hazards promptly, support training and reinforce standard work and 5S practices.
  • Recognize equipment and process problems, capture useful facts, take safe initial action and coordinate timely response with Maintenance. Help distinguish equipment losses from staffing, method and execution opportunities without assuming ownership of maintenance repairs.
  • Implement practical improvements to work methods, training, changeovers, labor use, quality and line performance. Test changes, document results and sustain improvements with the team.
  • Give the Director of Operations accurate, timely updates on performance, mistakes, emerging risks and needed decisions. Carry assigned initiatives from direction to implementation, escalate obstacles and provide progress updates without repeated prompting.

Decision Authority and Working Relationships

This role directs production personnel and daily production activities on the assigned shift, including labor allocation and routine personnel decisions within company policy. It collaborates with Maintenance on equipment response, Quality or Compliance on product and process decisions, and Supply Chain on material and schedule constraints. Product release, technical repairs, purchasing and broader plant strategy remain with the designated owners unless separately delegated.

Required Qualifications

  • Direct experience supervising employees in a manufacturing environment, including coaching, performance accountability and day-to-day production execution.
  • Fluent spoken Spanish and effective spoken and written English sufficient to lead a predominantly Spanish-speaking production team, communicate across departments and maintain accurate records.
  • Demonstrated ability to use spreadsheets, production reports and digital systems to manage performance, interpret production measures and follow up on problems.
  • Ability to enforce written procedures, quality and safety requirements, and accurate production documentation in a regulated manufacturing setting.
  • Sound judgment, candor, initiative and follow-through; able to identify controllable causes, take action and raise issues early.
  • Ability to support the early production startup schedule initially, with a regular schedule that may adjust as the leadership structure develops. Ability to work occasional Fridays when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Food or beverage manufacturing experience, including GMP and applicable food safety practices.
  • Examples of practical continuous improvement using root cause analysis, standard work, 5S, Lean or PDCA methods.
  • Experience with production KPI boards, downtime tracking, maintenance request systems or ERP/MRP tools. Experience with Vorne XL or MaintainX is helpful but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree or related technical education; equivalent demonstrated manufacturing leadership experience is fully considered.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first six months, the supervisor has established reliable shift routines, accurate reporting and clear ownership of daily production results. Employees understand expectations and receive timely coaching. Quality and safety concerns are surfaced promptly, cross-functional partners have the facts they need, and improvement work moves forward with visible follow-through. As the business grows, the supervisor adapts the production team's methods and capability without waiting for every next step to be prescribed.

Work Environment

This position works primarily on the production floor of a beverage plant and regularly moves between lines, equipment and work areas. The supervisor must be able to observe operations, communicate in an active manufacturing environment, use standard office and production systems, and follow applicable safety and hygiene requirements. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions.
