Client Overview:
Our client is a growing materials company currently expanding their commercialization and production operations efforts, and they are looking to add a Manufacturing Operations Engineer to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$80k - $95k

Position Overview:
The Manufacturing Operations Engineer will help support the expansion and day-to-day execution of a sustainable manufacturing operation. This position serves as a link between engineering, production, quality, supply chain, fulfillment, and operational teams.

Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Operations Engineer:
  • Support the buildout of new equipment and site infrastructure, from technical review and procurement through installation, startup, and setting of operating parameters, working closely with outside vendors.
  • Run and troubleshoot production and testing equipment, and arrange upkeep, calibration, and outside service support.
  • Write and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation spanning warehouse, testing, production, and partner-run operations.
  • Plan and schedule daily operations, balancing output, capacity, stock levels, and order commitments.
  • Keep inventory and order records accurate in the company's business system, including lot traceability, location tracking, transfers, and material usage.
  • Choose which stock to allocate to customer orders by weighing quality, availability, and cost.
  • Prepare outbound orders with the supply chain team, covering timing, packaging, paperwork, and dispatch.
  • Organize product testing, from sample prep through data collection, comparison of outcomes, and reporting of results.
  • Contribute to technical assessments and process reviews at company sites and at external production partners.
  • Support product launches and other cross-team initiatives with technical and operational input.
  • Assist with small-scale processing equipment used for development, evaluation, and sample work.
  • Handle hands-on materials work such as receiving, staging, sorting, trimming, and packing. Step in on warehouse and shipping tasks during busy periods, including operating powered material-handling equipment after training.
  • Travel periodically, including internationally, for extended onsite assignments supporting equipment setup and issue resolution.
Required Experience/Skills for the Manufacturing Operations Engineer:
  • Roughly 2-5 years of related professional or hands-on experience in a manufacturing, distribution, testing, or equipment-focused setting.
  • Sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to juggle several priorities at once, manage schedules, and make practical calls on stock and order fulfillment.
  • Clear technical writing, with the ability to produce straightforward procedures and instructions.
  • Comfort with physically active work alongside technical and planning duties.
  • Openness to learning business-system software, technical systems, and material-handling equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, including internationally, for extended stretches.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Manufacturing Operations Engineer:
  • Hands-on background in production, warehousing, order fulfillment, quality, testing, or equipment support.
  • Experience with ERP software.
  • Experience working with equipment vendors, service providers, or outsourced manufacturers.
  • Exposure to project coordination or capital-equipment work.
Education Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent relevant professional or hands-on experience may also be considered.
