Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Morris County, NJ Industry: Defense & Aerospace Manufacturing Salary Range: $98,000 - $115,000

The Opportunity A leading defense contractor in Morris County is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the development and production of high-performance electro-mechanical systems. Our client specializes in mission-critical aviation components where precision and reliability are paramount. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys bridging the gap between design and the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

Process Development: Plan and implement production methods, including cell set-ups, work instructions, build books, and routers for new and existing products.

Manufacturability Review: Review engineering drawings to ensure products can be efficiently manufactured; initiate engineering change orders (ECOs) as needed.

Testing & Evaluation: Witness and evaluate acceptance tests. Lead developmental and qualification testing, including Vibration, Thermal, and Environmental stress tests.

Troubleshooting: Provide hands-on support to technicians and machinists to resolve mechanical and electrical production issues or test failures.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and lean manufacturing integration.

Documentation: Build manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM) and author comprehensive test plans and reports.



Qualifications

Education: B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering.

Experience: 2-5 years in manufacturing engineering. (Entry-level candidates with relevant aerospace internships/co-ops will be considered).

Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD (Creo or equivalent) and a strong understanding of GD&T standards.

Environment: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of machining, material properties, and electronics/circuits.

Experience with electric/hydraulic motors and servo valves.

Familiarity with AS9100 Quality Management Systems and auditing.

Exposure to FAA/EASA certification processes or military equipment standards.
