The Senior Manufacturing Engineer leads manufacturing engineering initiatives for complex printed circuit board assemblies and electronic systems in a high-mix, high-technology electronics manufacturing environment. Description

In this role you will report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Programming and maintaining SMT equipment to support efficient and reliable production.
  • Troubleshooting assembly and manufacturing issues while implementing corrective actions.
  • Conducting design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews to improve producibility, quality, reliability, and cost.
  • Developing and implementing manufacturing, assembly, and rework processes for new and existing products.
  • Supporting new product introductions by identifying and resolving process and product-related challenges.
  • Collaborating with Operations to improve yields, throughput, efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance.
  • Creating process documentation, manufacturing instructions, and work packages.
  • Supporting quality initiatives to achieve world-class defect reduction and performance metrics.
  • Participating in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Reviewing and implementing customer engineering change orders.
  • Supporting corrective action investigations and root cause analysis activities.
  • Assisting with capacity planning, process development, and cycle time reduction projects.
  • Supporting MRB activities and disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Evaluating manufacturing equipment and recommending process improvements.
  • Participating in cross-functional quality and engineering reviews.
  • Traveling occasionally to customer, supplier, and company facilities as required.
  • Maintaining ESD compliance and supporting a safe, organized production environment.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of work-in-process throughout manufacturing operations.
  • Training and mentoring employees on manufacturing processes and best practices.

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong expertise in SMT processes, surface mount equipment, and circuit card assembly manufacturing in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
  • Experience with SMT equipment, solder paste inspection (SPI), automated optical inspection (AOI), and electronic manufacturing process optimization.
  • Knowledge of DFM principles, root cause analysis, statistical methods, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and engineering tools.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturing documentation while developing practical process solutions.
  • U.S. Person status required due to access to ITAR-controlled technical data.
