Description

Our client, a Aerospace And Defense company, is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer for their Orlando, FL location.
 
Responsibilities:
  • We are seeking a talented and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic Machining Operations Center/Manufacturing Engineering Team.
  • As part of this collaborative team, you will contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of special processes and small parts assembly for ultraprecision machined components.
  • Your work will involve driving technology and automation into these operations.
  • As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Machining Operations Center (MOC) within the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) facility located in Orlando, FL.
  • The MOC specializes in producing ultra precision machined components that are the foundation of electro optical targeting systems and missile systems.
  • Responsible for driving process improvements within small parts assembly, paint, and plating manufacturing areas
  • Interpret drawing requirements and create detailed work instruction documentation to support production needs
  • Perform root cause analysis of component non conformances and ensure implementation of effective corrective action
  • Create fixture and tooling concepts, drawings, and models
  • Identify, evaluate business case, and drive successful implementation of automation and IFF technologies
  • Participate in capital investment/equipment evaluation, selection, and project management
  • Provide shop floor support as necessary to resolve technical and manufacturing issues
  • Monitor and report on quality, schedule, and cost performance of assigned projects/programs
  • This role is a unique opportunity to work on first production machined components, along with long standing production components.
  • Cutting edge software, machinery, and technology is utilized to produce components for our customers.
  • This role is hands on and requires a desire to actively engage in shop floor daily production, troubleshooting, and improvement initiatives.
  • The team members are a cohesive blend of experience focused on driving change and improvements into our processes.
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline
  • Basic understanding of CAD software such as Siemens NX, CREO, Pro Engineer, or Solidworks (Experience: 3 years)
  • Experience working in production manufacturing environment (Experience: 3 years)
  • Working knowledge and experience using MES, PLM, and ERP systems (Experience: 3 years)
  • Experience with small parts assembly operation including precision pin installation, rivet install, helicoils, etc. (Experience: 3 years)
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation skills (Experience: 3 years)
  • Experience utilizing CREO or NX for CAD (Experience: 3 years)
  • Experience working with MIL-SPEC and industry standard special processes (chem-film, anodize, passivation, organic coatings, plating, heat treatment, etc.) (Experience: 3 years)
  • Experience with paint application and masking processes for components and assemblies (metallic and composite) (Experience: 2 years)
  • Knowledge of precision measuring tools, gauges, and equipment (Experience: 3 years)
  • Experience with implementing automation manuacturing solutions (Not required, nice to have)
  • Experience with 3D Printing (Experience: 2 years)
  • Experience with chemistry, including execution of titrations, pH analysis, large volume plating line evaluation and troubleshooting (Not required, nice to have)
  • Familiarity with ISO9000 and AS9100 industry standards, and common military specifications (Experience: 3 years)
