PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Orlando, Florida for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This second-shift position will develop and improve manufacturing processes, production layouts, machining workflows, and work instructions while supporting automation, computer-aided manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives. The engineer will work closely with production and engineering teams to improve efficiency, quality, manufacturability, and equipment performance.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 0–3 years of relevant experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience using CAD software.
- 2+ years of professional experience using CAM software.
- 2+ years of professional experience working with G-code.
- 2+ years of experience interpreting Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- 2+ years of experience using precision measuring tools, gauges, and related inspection equipment.
- 1+ years of professional experience with MIL-SPEC special processes such as heat treatment, chemical film, anodizing, passivation, or organic coatings.
- 2+ years of professional experience with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of machining, fabrication, manufacturing equipment, and production processes.
- Ability to evaluate equipment performance and identify corrective actions.
- Ability to work the required second-shift schedule.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Creo or NX for CAD.
- Experience with Creo or NX for CAM.
- Experience with chemical film, paint applications, or other special processes.
- Experience with Vericut.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 and AS9100 standards.
- Familiarity with common military specifications.
- Experience with SAP.
- Experience with Apriso.
- Experience with Windchill PLM.
- Project-management experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts.
- Design efficient workflows for machining, assembly, equipment installation, and material handling.
- Define sequences of operations and fabrication procedures.
- Integrate automation, robotics, and computer-aided manufacturing technologies into production processes.
- Create and analyze 3D model data to improve work instructions and process flow.
- Develop or support machining processes using CAM software and G-code.
- Evaluate machinery, tooling, equipment, and IoT-enabled devices for performance and efficiency.
- Investigate manufacturing problems and initiate corrective actions.
- Incorporate inspection and test requirements into production planning.
- Use factory and production data to support statistical process control and continuous improvement.
- Provide manufacturing input to engineering regarding design concepts, specifications, tooling, and production methods.
- Ensure manufacturing processes and procedures comply with applicable requirements and standards.
Work Schedule / Shift
- Second shift.
- Tuesday–Friday.
- 12:00 PM–10:00 PM.
- 4/10 schedule.
- Full-time onsite in Orlando, Florida.
