Summary:
Responsible for driving process improvements within small parts assembly, paint, and plating manufacturing areas.
Interprets drawing requirements and creates detailed work instruction documentation to support production needs.
Performs root cause analysis of component non-conformances and ensures implementation of effective corrective action.
Creates fixture and tooling concepts, drawings, and models.
Identifies, evaluates business case, and drives successful implementation of automation and IFF technologies.
Participates in capital investment and equipment evaluation, selection, and project management.
Provides shop floor support as necessary to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
Monitors and reports on quality, schedule, and cost performance of assigned projects and programs.
Supports the Machining Operations Center (MOC) within the Missiles and Fire Control facility producing ultra precision machined components.
Works on first production machined components and long-standing production components using cutting edge software, machinery, and technology.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline.
Basic understanding of CAD software such as Siemens NX, CREO, Pro Engineer, or Solidworks (3 years experience).
Experience working in production manufacturing environment (3 years).
Preferred: Working knowledge and experience using MES, PLM, and ERP systems (3 years).
Preferred: Experience with small parts assembly operation including precision pin installation, rivet install, helicoils, etc. (3 years).
Preferred: Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) interpretation skills (3 years).
Preferred: Experience utilizing CREO or NX for CAD (3 years).
Preferred: Experience working with MIL-SPEC and industry standard special processes (chem-film, anodize, passivation, organic coatings, plating, heat treatment, etc.) (3 years).
Preferred: Experience with paint application and masking processes for components and assemblies (metallic and composite) (2 years).
