As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will plan, manage, and execute on manufacturing priorities that will continually enhance the quality standards and manufacturing efficiencies to ensure both customer and business goals are achieved.

Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the Role

Optimizing the Efficiencies within the Manufacturing for High-Standard Products & Processes (100% of the Job)

  1. Analyzes, designs, and provides input on new product designs to ensure manufacturing viability and ease of production assembly.
  2. Troubleshoots and resolves issues on current parts/products in Production to ensure product meets the scope while also ensuring "ease of assembly" and issues corrective actions when needed.
  3. Manages the product validation for releases of new or enhanced feature sets, from concept through production release, ensuring that all products meet quality standards, customer requirements, and "ease of assembly" before product launch.
  4. Reviews and/or validates service manuals and product materials, ensuring accurate information and instructions.
  5. Supports Quality to ensure product and process changes are implemented and maintained.
  6. Leads and coordinates the build, repair, and calibration of test fixtures (electrical) and manufacturing fixtures/tooling for Production to meet quality and manufacturing standards.
  7. Collaborates and mentors' others to drive the enhancement of individual skills in Lean efficiencies, quality standards, and systems optimization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  8. Supports other areas of Engineering and the business for the overall success of the company.
  9. Supports and promotes workplace safety in alignment with company policies and applicable OSHA standards.

Position Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required.
  2. Experience: 4+ years of direct Manufacturing Engineering or Electronics Engineering experience in research, repair, product validation, along with process enhancement experience.
  3. Certification(s): n/a
  4. Functional Skills: Advanced manufacturing, product, and process optimization skills required; Excellent researching, planning, prioritization, organizational, and execution skills; High attention to quality and detail with knowledge of electronic board components to finished products, test fixtures, and machine optimization. Excellent ability in creating schematics, analyzing processes, and validating data is essential. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; Strong ability to read and analyze blueprints; A solid foundational understanding of ISO/Quality Systems, Safety, Lean Thinking, 5S, and Six Sigma is preferred. Able to manage to KPI's and create ongoing improvements.
  5. Technology Aptitude/Skills: Knowledge and understanding of Smart systems, sensor technology, and Smart controls. Intermediate use of Microsoft programs (such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and ERP systems is also required.
  6. Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate technical information, train team members, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Leadership/Behaviors: Collaborative approach with team members and customers; Strong project management and influencing skills; Has a strong desire to continuously improve products and processes of ease of use and ease of assembly; High sense of urgency with strong follow-through to ensure project plan timelines, guideposts, and due dates are achieved. Innovative and able to engage with new technology; High attention to quality to maintain and grow customers (both internally & externally). Must be able to take initiative, be forward-thinking, and make solid decisions focused on the goals of the organization.

Physical Requirements to Perform Essential Functions:

  • Ability to sit and operate motorized equipment occasionally.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to operate hand tools/equipment and machinery occasionally.
  • Ability to operate keyboard and view computer screen occasionally.
  • Ability to write ideas/information in a logical flow occasionally.
  • Cognitive and reasoning ability to read, review and interpret work orders or processes on a frequent basis.
  • Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to read small print and respond due to nature of the work occasionally.

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, bend, reach, stoop, crouch, kneel, squat, twist, push, pull and carry items.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed in the performance of essential job functions.

Environmental Conditions & Travel:

  • The employee is primarily exposed to a normal office environment with moderate noise.
  • The employee is occasionally required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while visiting the manufacturing and warehouse areas.
  • This position may face inclement weather conditions when traveling and be exposed to machinery, moving parts, or fumes.
  • Travel: up to 20% is required

Equipment Used:

  • This role regularly uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, electronic devices, photocopiers, filing systems/cabinets and fax machines.
  • This role also uses CAD software and related products.
  • This role routinely uses basic hand tools and other equipment to operate and/or perform production optimization.
  • This role routinely operates equipment on a daily basis.
