Job Description

This Manufacturing Engineer role focuses on developing, improving, and supporting custom part manufacturing within the aerospace industry. You will apply your manufacturing engineering expertise to optimize processes, solve complex equipment issues, and drive impactful changes across production operations. This position offers the opportunity to influence how components are designed, built, and automated in a rapidly growing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide process engineering support for the development, modification, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for custom aerospace components.
• Lead and implement manufacturing process improvements using data collection, analysis, and formal problem-solving techniques.
• Use structured problem-solving methods to identify, diagnose, and resolve equipment and process issues in a timely manner.
• Engineer in-house and subcontractor solutions for tooling, including fixture design, machine design changes, improvements, and repairs.
• Identify unforeseen problems in manufacturing operations and respond with practical, effective engineering solutions.
• Diagnose repetitive equipment failures, troubleshoot root causes, and implement durable corrective actions.
• Ensure all engineering solutions meet requirements for safety, cost efficiency, schedule, and product quality.
• Evaluate technical and operational risks, make informed decisions, and act with a strong sense of urgency when resolving issues.
• Take full ownership of assigned projects from initial planning through implementation and follow-up.
• Participate in the development, documentation, and maintenance of engineering procedures and standards.
• Manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently while maintaining clear priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams involved in tooling, capital equipment, and process automation to support manufacturing objectives.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 2-5 years of experience making changes to manufacturing build setup processes to meet design changes.
• 2-3 years of experience in the design of fixtures or tools using 3D SolidWorks.
• 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing process automation, with a strong understanding of how to automate production processes.
• 2-5 years of experience participating in capital equipment purchases and implementation in a manufacturing environment.
• 1-2 years of experience with CNC machining, including mills or lathes.
• Hands-on manufacturing engineering experience in a production setting.
• Proficiency in manufacturing process improvement and optimization.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment and process issues using formal problem-solving methods.
• Capability to manage multiple engineering projects and tasks simultaneously.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in the aerospace component or precision manufacturing industry.
• Experience in fixture design and tooling solutions for complex parts.
• Familiarity with CNC operations and programming concepts related to mills and lathes.
• Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making and process optimization.
• Ability to evaluate risk and make timely, sound engineering decisions.
• Demonstrated ownership mindset, taking responsibility for projects from concept through implementation.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and cost control in manufacturing operations.

Work Environment

This role operates in a dynamic manufacturing environment focused on producing custom aerospace components. You will work closely with production, tooling, and engineering teams, using technologies such as CNC machining equipment, fixtures and tooling, and 3D SolidWorks for design and process development. Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Blue Ash, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $125000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
