    Manufacturing Assembly Specialist

    Organization: JIREH METAL PRODUCTS

    Based in: Grandville, MI

    Reporting to: Operations Manager

    Own the assembly process from parts to product. In this role, you’ll transform documented requirements—work instructions, blueprints, and schematics—into finished goods that meet exacting standards. You’ll focus on assembly first, then jump in where needed to keep the line moving, whether that’s boxing, secondary operations, packaging, or other value-added support.

    Your impact (what you’ll deliver)

    • Assemble components and products to specification while meeting production, quality, and safety goals.
    • Inspect your work for conformance and elevate defects or equipment concerns right away.
    • Operate required hand tools, power tools, and production equipment safely and effectively.
    • Collaborate across functions to align with production priorities and hit targets.

    What a typical week looks like

    • Build assignments per current work instructions and prints.
    • Partner with Quality to verify results; document and communicate issues quickly.
    • Follow all safety protocols and maintain an orderly, hazard-free work area.
    • Flex to support boxing, secondary operations, packaging, and other production areas when workloads shift.
    • Cross-train to expand your proficiency across multiple production activities.

    What you bring

    • Experience in assembly, manufacturing, or general labor is a plus—not required.
    • Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
    • Strong attention to detail; follow written and verbal instructions reliably.
    • High school diploma or equivalent (required).

    Physical realities of the job

    • Extended standing with frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion.
    • Independently lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds.
    • Continuous, safe operation of required tools and equipment throughout the workday.

    Travel and language

    • Minimal travel.
    • Must be able to read and write in English.

    Safety gear (PPE)

    • Safety glasses and hearing protection are required in all manufacturing areas.
    • Wear additional PPE as required by specific tasks or areas.

    Where you’ll work

    • Manufacturing environment with constant noise and moving equipment.
    • Exposure to dust, grease, moisture, and temperature changes.
    • Potential exposure to manufacturing hazards—strict adherence to safety procedures is mandatory.
    • Intermittent outdoor weather exposure.
