Role Overview

Client is seeking a hands-on Manager of Software Engineering to lead a team of engineers and drive the design, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of enterprise and internal-facing applications. The ideal candidate combines strong people leadership with hands-on expertise in modern application development, cloud, APIs, integrations, and AI-assisted software engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers.
• Drive application architecture, technical design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Establish engineering standards for coding, code reviews, testing, security, documentation, Git, and CI/CD.
• Partner with Product, Data, Security, Infrastructure, QA, and business teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Own application reliability, performance, technical debt, and operational readiness.
• Lead incident management, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Manage third-party engineering partners and distributed development teams.
• Champion AI-assisted development, including Claude Code and AI agents for coding, testing, documentation, debugging, refactoring, and automation.
• Establish appropriate governance, security, validation, and human-oversight practices for AI-generated code.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years in Engineering Management, Technical Lead, or people leadership.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET/.NET Core, REST APIs, SQL Server, and Cloud platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, Agile, software architecture, design patterns, integrations, testing, and application security.
• Experience delivering and supporting enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
