The Montana Department of Transportation is recruiting for a Maintenance Training & Implementation Program Manager. This position provides training for employees within the Maintenance division, including Helena headquarters and the five districts across the state. Responsible for conducting needs assessments, identifying sources/content for training, reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for training, administering contracts for training by consultants, developing training materials, teaching classes, and managing training budgets. This position oversees MDT's Entry Level Drivers Training program which includes setting up and providing training for both internal employees and the general public. This position reports to the Maintenance Operations Manager and does not supervise others. Other MDT office locations may be considered.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Development, Business or Public Administration, Communications, Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience in education including: instruction, developing education programs, group facilitation and conference coordination. Also requires a minimum of 2 years of experience driving a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) requiring a CDL of the same (or higher) class and/or the same endorsement; or a minimum of 2 years of experience as a behind-the-wheel CMV instructor.
Alternative combinations of related work experience or education may be considered.
Must have a valid Montana Commercial Operators License (Class A, Type II) with no restrictions, a tank endorsement and a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.

The advertised salary includes the $1.00 increase passed by the 2025 MT State Legislature regarding the state pay plan effective July 1, 2026.
