General Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $30.50 – $34.50 per hour
About the Role
We're looking for a skilled and dependable General Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Spartanburg, SC. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of maintenance experience and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
This role is essential to maintaining equipment reliability, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and ensuring safe, efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues as they arise.
- Document all maintenance activities and ensure accurate work order completion.
- Identify potential hazards and report or resolve safety concerns promptly.
- Participate in compliance and EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety) programs.
- Support continuous improvement by contributing to Maintenance Job Evaluations and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and follow technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Effective communicator and team player with strong problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform hands-on labor.
- Comfortable working in various conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
- Must be able to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely.
