Job Details
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs involving plumbing fixtures, lighting, doors, locks, hardware, and other building components.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete repairs within the scope of your training and qualifications.
- Handle painting, drywall patching, caulking, minor carpentry, and flooring repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and identify safety concerns or needed repairs.
- Assist with property turnover preparation, renovation projects, and punch-list completion.
- Respond to work orders, prioritize requests, and document completed work.
- Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and clean, organized work areas.
- Coordinate with supervisors and outside contractors when specialized repairs are needed.
- Follow safety procedures and minimize disruption to building occupants.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, apartment maintenance, or a related trade.
- Working knowledge of general plumbing, basic electrical troubleshooting, carpentry, painting, and drywall repair.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
- Dependable attendance, attention to detail, and a customer service mindset.
- Ability to perform physical maintenance tasks, including standing, bending, climbing ladders, and moving materials.
- HVAC experience or relevant trade certifications are a plus.
