    Description

    HiFyve is hiring a Maintenance Technician in the Manufacturing industry!

    Salary: $25-30/hr

    Shift: 3rd Shift — 10:45 pm to 7 am, Sunday through Thursday

    Location: Columbus, OH

    Job Responsibilities

    Assist the Technical Maintenance Manager with daily maintenance activities and ensure production equipment remains operational and reliable.

    Perform preventative maintenance on machines, process equipment, production equipment, and other major assets.

    Repair mechanical and electrical breakdowns on all process equipment as needed.

    Perform scheduled building maintenance and facility repairs throughout the plant.

    Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on material handling equipment.

    Maintain and document maintenance records for all process equipment using work orders, CMMS, and other required systems.

    Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and repair parts through the CMMS system.

    Inspect all tools and maintenance equipment at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure they are accounted for and in good working order.

    Work proactively and with a sense of urgency when performing repairs, troubleshooting equipment, and completing preventive maintenance tasks.

    Review and follow all Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures and task sheets to ensure proper maintenance intervals and quality work.

    Perform repairs according to applicable electrical and plumbing codes and equipment manufacturer manuals.

    Prioritize personal and machine safety when performing repairs and maintenance.

    Complete repairs correctly the first time while maintaining machine health and minimizing temporary or containment repairs.

    Utilize maintenance software (CMMS) to accurately track work orders, time, materials, and repairs.

    Notify the Maintenance Leader when materials and parts are used so supplies and critical components can be replenished.

    Maintain open communication with maintenance team members and production associates to ensure important equipment issues are properly communicated between shifts.

    Follow all company safety, GMP, food safety, quality, and QMS procedures.

    Support teamwork initiatives, continuous improvement projects, cleanup activities, and other departments when needed.

    Generate and implement improvement ideas to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

    Requirements

    Adhere to safety culture standards with the objective of zero safety incidents.

    Maintain compliance with GMP and food safety standards with no repeat violations.

    Follow all QMS standards for food safety and ensure all required documentation and signatures are completed for work orders.

    Complete assigned work orders within estimated timeframes on a rolling 90-day average.

    Follow attendance policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

    Maintain housekeeping standards, including cleaning grease, oil, glue, and other residue from equipment after maintenance.

    Follow Maintenance Shop 6S and inventory control programs.

    Provide proper care to machines and equipment resulting in zero damage.

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    Previous maintenance experience in an industrial production or manufacturing environment is preferred.

    Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills are required.

    Experience working with large manufacturing or industrial equipment is preferred.

    Ability to read and understand blueprints, machinery manuals, and technical instructions.

    Ability to follow verbal directions and successfully complete assigned procedures and tasks.

    Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform mathematical calculations and use measuring tools such as tape measures and micrometers.

    Computer proficiency and ability to accurately enter information into maintenance systems and CMMS software.

    Detail-oriented with strong paperwork and system documentation skills.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance and production team.

    Experience with continuous improvement methods is strongly preferred.

    Ability to adapt to changing work assignments, production priorities, and customer needs.

    Ability to communicate effectively in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to lift and properly handle items up to 75 pounds.

    Ability to stand for the duration of a work shift less breaks and lunch.

    Willingness to work overtime or beyond a normal workweek as maintenance coverage demands require.

    Availability for possible call-ins during off hours in the event of major equipment breakdowns.

    Ability to troubleshoot, identify, prioritize, and manage multiple maintenance needs in a fast-paced production environment.

    Ability to maintain high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Must provide personal hand tools and toolbox, with the company providing specialty tools and equipment.

    Willingness to travel locally as required, with occasional overnight travel as needed.

    Willingness to be trained in the proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
