Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable and self-motivated Maintenance Technician for a third-shift manufacturing opportunity in Tulsa. This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, troubleshooting equipment failures, completing preventive maintenance, and helping keep machinery operating efficiently throughout the overnight shift.

Because this position works overnight with limited supervision, the ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and remaining productive and accountable throughout the shift.

Previous maintenance experience is required, with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting knowledge strongly preferred.

Required Experience & Skills

• Previous maintenance experience required
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to diagnose equipment failures and determine appropriate repairs
• Basic electrical knowledge preferred
• Hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting knowledge preferred
• Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance
• Experience using common maintenance hand and power tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong initiative and ability to stay productive throughout overnight hours

• Ability to accurately document completed maintenance activities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and machinery
• Complete corrective maintenance and repairs
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment problems
• Diagnose basic electrical issues
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Identify worn, damaged, or defective equipment components
• Repair or replace defective components as required
• Respond promptly to production equipment breakdowns
• Determine appropriate corrective actions
• Complete repairs efficiently to minimize production downtime
• Inspect equipment for potential maintenance concerns
• Test repaired equipment before returning it to production
• Complete required maintenance documentation
• Maintain tools and maintenance areas in clean and organized condition
• Follow all company maintenance and safety procedures
• Assist with additional maintenance and facility projects as assigned

Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance

Candidates may troubleshoot and maintain:

• Production machinery
• Mechanical drive systems
• Motors and related components
• Basic industrial electrical systems
• Hydraulic equipment
• Pneumatic systems
• Bearings and mechanical components
• Production equipment
• Other industrial systems

Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to systematically troubleshoot equipment problems are important for success in this position.

Preventive Maintenance Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities
• Inspect machinery for wear and potential failures
• Lubricate, clean, adjust, and service equipment as required
• Identify components approaching failure
• Replace worn components when appropriate
• Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records
• Help improve equipment reliability and production uptime

Breakdown & Corrective Maintenance

• Respond quickly to equipment failures
• Diagnose the source of mechanical problems
• Identify electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic concerns
• Complete appropriate repairs
• Replace defective components
• Verify repairs before returning equipment to service
• Communicate significant or recurring problems to appropriate personnel
• Help minimize unnecessary production downtime

Independent 3rd Shift Responsibilities

This position requires someone who can work effectively without constant supervision.

Successful candidates must be able to:

• Manage assigned responsibilities independently
• Identify maintenance work that needs attention
• Stay productive during periods without active breakdowns
• Complete preventive maintenance without repeated direction
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Follow established maintenance and safety procedures
• Communicate unresolved concerns to the appropriate personnel
• Remain accountable throughout the overnight shift

Safety Requirements

• Follow all company and OSHA safety requirements
• Participate in required facility safety programs
• Complete annual OSHA safety training
• Follow proper equipment shutdown and maintenance procedures
• Lockout/Tagout training will be provided
• Wear required PPE
• Report unsafe conditions or equipment concerns promptly
• Maintain clean and hazard-free maintenance areas

Preferred Qualifications

• Industrial Maintenance Technician experience
• Manufacturing maintenance experience
• Mechanical equipment repair experience
• Electrical troubleshooting experience
• Hydraulic troubleshooting experience
• Pneumatic system experience
• Preventive maintenance experience
• Motor and drive-system experience
• Experience working independently on 2nd or 3rd shift
• Strong mechanical aptitude

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to lift and move equipment components and parts as required
• Manual dexterity required for tools and mechanical components
• Ability to safely access production equipment for inspection and repair
• Comfortable performing physically active maintenance work throughout the overnight shift
• Ability to safely work around industrial machinery while wearing required PPE

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and industrial environment
• Regular work around production machinery, mechanical systems, electrical equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Overnight position requiring significant independent work
• Cameras are located throughout the facility
• Stable Sunday–Thursday | 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM schedule
• Safety-focused workplace requiring consistent compliance with maintenance procedures
