Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to join a second-shift industrial maintenance team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting equipment and facility systems, completing repairs, and helping keep plant operations running safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has previous mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to take initiative and work independently. This position provides exposure to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and electronic systems while supporting both production equipment and general facility maintenance.

Required Experience & Skills

• Mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience in an industrial environment preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge
• Ability to diagnose equipment and facility maintenance issues
• Basic computer skills required
• Ability to complete maintenance-related data entry
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Dependable attendance and personal accountability
• High school diploma, GED, or technical certification preferred
• Strong commitment to workplace and equipment safety

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment
• Troubleshoot production machinery and equipment problems
• Complete mechanical repairs as required
• Troubleshoot basic electrical systems
• Assist with plumbing-related maintenance and repairs
• Troubleshoot electronic equipment and components as assigned
• Respond to equipment failures and maintenance requests
• Identify worn or damaged components
• Repair or replace defective components as required
• Complete assigned maintenance projects safely and efficiently
• Work closely with Operations to maximize equipment uptime
• Help minimize unnecessary production downtime
• Complete required maintenance documentation
• Enter maintenance information into computer systems
• Maintain tools and work areas in clean and organized condition
• Follow all company safety and maintenance procedures
• Perform additional maintenance and facility duties as assigned

Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance

Candidates may work with:

• Industrial production equipment
• Mechanical components
• Motors and related systems
• Electrical equipment
• Electronic components
• Plumbing systems
• Facility equipment
• Other plant machinery and systems

The successful candidate should be comfortable investigating problems, identifying potential causes, and completing appropriate repairs within their level of training and authorization.

Preventive Maintenance Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities
• Inspect equipment for wear or potential failures
• Lubricate, clean, adjust, and service equipment as required
• Identify components that may require repair or replacement
• Help prevent unexpected equipment breakdowns
• Document completed preventive maintenance
• Support equipment reliability and production efficiency

Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Respond to equipment problems during production
• Diagnose mechanical failures
• Identify basic electrical issues
• Troubleshoot plumbing and electronic systems when required
• Determine appropriate corrective actions
• Complete repairs safely and efficiently
• Test equipment after repairs
• Communicate significant or recurring problems to appropriate personnel
• Work with Operations to return equipment to service as quickly as safely possible

Facility Maintenance

This position also supports general facility upkeep.

Responsibilities may include:

• Painting
• Patching
• General building repairs
• Minor plumbing work
• Facility equipment maintenance
• Basic repair projects
• General plant upkeep

Candidates should be willing to assist wherever needed to maintain safe and efficient facility operations.

Computer & Documentation Responsibilities

• Complete maintenance documentation accurately
• Enter work information into applicable computer systems
• Document completed repairs
• Record preventive maintenance activities
• Maintain organized maintenance information
• Communicate unresolved equipment concerns between shifts or departments

Preferred Qualifications

• Industrial Maintenance Technician experience
• Manufacturing maintenance experience
• Mechanical troubleshooting experience
• Electrical maintenance experience
• Plumbing experience
• Electronic troubleshooting experience
• Preventive maintenance experience
• Facility maintenance experience
• Technical or industrial maintenance certification
• High Pressure Boiler License is a plus
• Previous second-shift maintenance experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift and move up to 75 lbs
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling
• Ability to safely access industrial machinery for inspection and repair
• Manual dexterity required for tools and equipment components
• Comfortable performing physically demanding maintenance work
• Ability to safely work around moving industrial machinery
• Ability to wear all required PPE

Work Environment

• Industrial manufacturing and plant environment
• Regular work around production machinery, mechanical systems, electrical equipment, and facility systems
• Loud industrial environment with moving equipment and machinery
• Combination of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, emergency repairs, and facility projects
• Stable 2nd Shift | 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM schedule
• Strong emphasis on safety, equipment uptime, productivity, accountability, and teamwork
