Description

Rytec Corporation (a Nucor company) is hiring a Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift in Hartford, WI to support plant operations by maximizing equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvements in safety, quality, and equipment performance. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least three years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, and hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems up to 480 VAC.

Job Responsibilities

Job Duties

  • Perform preventive, predictive, emergency, and facility maintenance on manufacturing equipment, lighting, compressed air, plumbing, HVAC, and building infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot, repair, install, and modify electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems using technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
  • Document all maintenance work orders in the CMMS, perform root cause analysis, and fabricate/modify equipment components to drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with production teams and outside contractors, operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and aerial lifts, and maintain organized work areas aligned with 5S standards

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred)
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (5+ years preferred)
  • Proven proficiency troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical (up to 480 VAC), hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and CMMS software
  • Ability to work 2nd shift (Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:30 AM) with willingness to complete initial training on 1st shift
  • Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel to the Jackson, WI facility twice per month as needed
  • Strong commitment to safety procedures, verbal/written communication, and operating material handling equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts)
