Maintenance Supervisor - Heavy Industrial Manufacturing


Are you a proven maintenance leader who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment? We're partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled union maintenance team responsible for maximizing equipment reliability, safety, and production performance.

This is an opportunity to step into a highly visible leadership role where you'll supervise electricians and mechanics, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and play a key role in supporting operational excellence across a large-scale manufacturing operation.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Maintenance Supervisor, you'll oversee a unionized maintenance crew while providing technical leadership and hands-on troubleshooting support.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise electricians and mechanics in a heavy manufacturing environment.
Coordinate and prioritize planned, preventative, predictive, and emergency maintenance activities.
Support production by minimizing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues and guide teams toward effective solutions.
Conduct safety meetings and job-specific safety reviews in an effort to ensure compliance with all safety standards.
Drive root cause analysis and rapid problem-solving efforts to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
Manage manpower, scheduling, vacation coverage, and daily work assignments within labor agreement guidelines.
Foster a positive relationship with union employees while maintaining accountability and performance expectations.
Partner with operations and engineering teams to improve productivity, quality, recovery, and delivery performance
Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of industrial maintenance experience
2+ years of supervisory experience leading maintenance teams
Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical and electrical systems
Experience working in manufacturing, heavy industrial, metals, paper, chemical, automotive, or similar environments
Ability to lead teams through planned and unplanned maintenance challenges

Preferred Experience:

Union leadership experience
Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement Experience
Knowledge of labor agreements and workforce planning
Experience supervising electricians and mechanics
