The Maintenance Supervisor leads the Maintenance Team in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment at Savage's Comanche Material Handling operation in Pueblo, Colorado. Savage manages and performs critical steps in the coal supply chain, including managing product using heavy equipment at the customer facility, stockpiling coal, and transporting products via conveyor structures to the Comanche Power Station.

What you will be doing

Ensure all team members follow proper safety rules, maintenance and operating procedures, and facilitate corrective actionWrite and revise maintenance procedures as neededOversee development and execution of weekly maintenance scheduleSupervise daily maintenance activities and workforce performing maintenanceAssist in all training of team members in proper maintenance techniques and equipment operationLead preventative maintenance practicesMaintain the CMMS to ensure the system is properly utilized

Procure parts from external vendors when neededWrite and manage repair orders/work orders

Maintain and constantly update the critical parts listManage spare parts inventory and ensure that necessary amounts of inventory are in stock to reduce any delays or failuresPerform daily inspections and maintenance auditsCommunicate with the customer in a professional and competent mannerWork with the operation to schedule maintenance activities and planning schedules to accommodate the Customer's production plans and emergency repairs as needed

What we will need from you

High School Diploma or greater, bachelor's degree preferredMinimum of 5 years' experience working with bulk materials, conveyor systems, and heavy equipmentMinimum of 5 years in a supervisory role, preferably maintenanceBackground in Preventative Maintenance and Mechanical ReliabilityKnowledge and experience using a CMMSBackground in planning and scheduling maintenanceExtensive knowledge of conveyor systems, heavy equipment (excavators, front-end loaders, and bulldozers), conveyor systems, and other types of material handling.Experience executing planned and scheduled maintenance activities with a focus on reducing emergencies and reactive workWorking knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, troubleshooting, and problem-solvingExperience operating several different types of heavy equipment from various manufacturers and Programmable Logic Controller systems (PLCs)Experience with high safety standards and the dangers of working in these types of environments, and understanding how poor maintenance can be costly to such industriesExcellent communication skills - written and spokenExcellent organizational skills & multi-taskingExtensive knowledge of operating a variety of equipment is a plusExperience with applying safety regulations and written procedures within a power plant is requiredPresent in front of a groupStrong familiarity with OSHA safety regulations for an industrial power facilityLight welding and fabrication skills are a plusComputer knowledge and ability to perform data entry with high accuracyValid driver's license and ability to perform parts pickups and delivery when needed
