Industrial Maintenance Manager

We are a large-scale industrial processing and logistics operation serving commercial customers throughout the Upper Midwest. Operating a high-volume, 24/7 industrial production environment we are committed to operational excellence, safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance department and ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all facility equipment and systems.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Manageris responsible for leading all maintenance operations within a large industrial production facility. This position oversees preventive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, troubleshooting, capital projects, inventory management, and the development of a skilled maintenance team.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong mechanical and electrical expertise, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and proven experience managing maintenance personnel using a CMMS system, while scheduling workorders and PMs in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • 10+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • 3+ years of maintenance leadership or management experience.
  • strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, motors, conveyors, boilers, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, control diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety requirements.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, manage, train, and develop a team of 10+ maintenance technicians.
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability measures, and performance standards.
  • Manage technician schedules, vacation requests, on-call rotations, and staffing needs.
  • Foster a positive, safety-focused work environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and coaching sessions.
Equipment Reliability & Maintenance

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of industrial equipment, including:
    • Boilers and steam systems
    • Compressed air systems
    • PLCs and automated controls
    • Conveyors
    • Large-scale production and processing equipment
    • HVAC systems
    • Water treatment and softener systems
    • Electrical distribution systems
    • Pumps, motors, and pneumatic equipment
  • Ensure all preventive maintenance tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system issues.
  • Monitor equipment performance and implement reliability improvements.
Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Analyze downtime trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
  • Manage parts inventory and vendor relationships.
  • Support capital improvement projects and equipment installations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
