Our client is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (Level III or IV) to join their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$92k - $140k Annually

Position Overview:
The Maintenance Engineer (Level III or IV) spearheads predictive and preventive maintenance strategies, conducts equipment failure investigations, manages spare parts inventories, oversees lubrication programs, and ensures infrastructure integrity. This role is responsible for plant utilities, including steam, compressed air, cooling water, and natural gas systems, requiring specialized knowledge of boilers, air compressors, and cooling towers.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer (Level III or IV):
  • Lead comprehensive equipment reliability and maintenance optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Production teams to enhance plant productivity and product quality.
  • Act as a technical authority on plant utilities and process equipment for Production and Maintenance teams.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to maintenance personnel to elevate skill levels.
  • Develop and implement sustainable solutions for chronic maintenance challenges.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and rapid resolution of emergent equipment issues.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine predictive and preventive maintenance programs for maximum effectiveness.
  • Maintain consistent communication with area coordinators to align maintenance activities.
  • Be available on a 24/7 on-call basis to support urgent maintenance and production requirements.
  • Oversee project lifecycle management including scoping, budgeting, capital approval, supervision, and commissioning.
  • Conduct root cause analyses on frequent equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage and coordinate external contractors to meet plant maintenance and operational needs.
Required Experience/Skills for the Maintenance Engineer (Level III or IV):
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience within chemical or food processing environments.
  • In-depth expertise in production equipment and chemical processing operations.
  • Proficient in industrial maintenance methodologies such as PM, PdM, CMMS, RCM, and TPM.
  • Strong grasp of engineering principles and safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate both hourly staff and contractors.
  • Excellent communication skills, including technical documentation and reporting.
  • Skilled in work order estimation, planning, scheduling, and timely execution.
  • Experience managing budgets, cost estimation, and capital project financials, including ROI analysis.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaborative problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Maintenance Engineer (Level III or IV):
  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • Experience managing maintenance and utilities in older plant infrastructures.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
