    Lead Maintenance Engineer is responsible for improving equipment reliability, optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and supporting plant utilities within a chemical or food-processing operation. This position investigates recurring equipment failures, manages reliability and capital-improvement projects, and provides technical support to Maintenance and Production. The role also oversees utilities including steam, compressed air, cooling water, and natural gas.


    RESPONSIBILITIES



    • Develop and implement equipment-reliability initiatives.

    • Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

    • Support plant utilities, including boilers, air compressors, cooling towers, steam, water, and natural gas systems.

    • Troubleshoot equipment and production problems and develop long-term corrective solutions.

    • Conduct equipment-failure and root-cause investigations.

    • Provide technical guidance to maintenance and production personnel.

    • Improve spare-parts, lubrication, and infrastructure-maintenance programs.

    • Manage improvement projects from scope and cost estimation through installation and commissioning.

    • Prepare capital requests and evaluate project return on investment.

    • Coordinate contractors and supervise field activities.

    • Support plant maintenance and production needs on an on-call basis.


    EXPERIENCE



    • BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 7+ years of engineering experience in Maintenance Engineering of chemical manufacturing or food processing plants.

    • Strong knowledge of production equipment, chemical processes, and plant utilities.

    • Experience with PM, PdM, CMMS, RCM, and TPM maintenance practices.

    • Knowledge of industrial safety and sound engineering practices.

    • Experience planning, estimating, scheduling, and completing maintenance and capital work.

    • Ability to manage project budgets, costs, contractors, and hourly employees.
