Maintenance and Reliability Manager

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance and Reliability Managerto lead maintenance operations for a growing manufacturing organization within the building materials industry. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who understands plant operations, equipment reliability, and the importance of keeping production running efficiently.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment and will be responsible for driving preventive maintenance programs, improving equipment reliability, and partnering with operations to maximize uptime and productivity.

 

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance professionals.

• Oversee daily maintenance operations, ensuring equipment reliability and production support.

• Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.

• Partner with plant leadership and production teams to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.

• Manage maintenance schedules, priorities, and work orders.

• Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and utilize CMMS systems effectively.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

• Manage relationships with outside contractors and vendors when needed.

• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience managing maintenance teams, technicians, or millwrights.

• Strong understanding of industrial equipment and troubleshooting.

• Experience with preventive maintenance and reliability improvement initiatives.

• Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and equipment documentation.

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with production, engineering, and plant leadership.

 

Preferred Experience:

Experience in industries such as:

• Building Materials

• Wood Products

• Lumber Manufacturing

• Sawmills

• Paper Manufacturing

• Industrial Manufacturing

• Component Manufacturing

 

Additional preferred experience:

• CMMS systems

• Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement

• Capital projects

• Reliability programs

• Mechanical and electrical systems
