A Low-Voltage Systems Engineer to generate engineering drawings and specifications for low voltage telecommunications, security, and audio-visual systems for construction projects. These projects will include a wide variety of building types and system applications. Required:
US Citizen
A minimum of two years of experience designing facility and low voltage systems and documenting these designs with drawings and narratives
Working knowledge of applicable telecommunication codes and standards
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university preferred. Extensive experience in systems installation or maintaining computer networks or other technical systems will be considered as a substitute for an engineering degree.
Experience in design of access control, CCTV systems, and intrusion detection systems
Experience in design of building copper and fiberoptic structured cabling systems
Experience designing audio/visual systems.
Experience in planning and design of secure facilities and developing and reviewing protective design standards
Ability to produce building design packages using Autodesk Revit software
Ability to generate project specific construction specifications using CSI-based templates
Experience in construction period services, including answering RFIs, review of submittals, and field assessments
Preferred:
Registered Communication Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification with BICSI
Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) audio-visual systems design certification with Avixa
Experience estimating engineering effort for building design projects
Job Responsibilities:
Provide designs for audiovisual, security and telecommunications systems.
Effectively create accurate drawings from engineer markups.
Develop shop drawings and as-builts drawings from field markups.
Provide Programming efforts, Creation of SDs, DDs, CDs and Punch List assistance to Project Managers.
Meet with clients to introduce additional services and discover how we can support their technology initiatives.
Staff Construction Site Meetings and document construction progress.
Understand Master Specification Format with writing and editing specifications
