Long/Short Software Analyst | Multi-Manager Hedge Fund | Remote
About the Opportunity:
A rapidly growing multi-manager hedge fund is looking to add an experienced Software Analyst to support a recently launched portfolio led by a highly regarded technology investor. The PM has a strong track record and is actively building out the team, creating a unique opportunity to join at an early stage while benefiting from the resources, infrastructure, and capital base of a leading platform.
The Portfolio Manager is based in Los Angeles, though the analyst can be located remotely within the U.S. The strategy focuses on fundamental long/short investing across the software sector, with an emphasis on deep research, differentiated idea generation, and rigorous financial analysis.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct fundamental research on publicly traded software companies
- Build and maintain detailed financial models and industry frameworks
- Generate and pitch actionable long and short investment ideas
- Analyze earnings reports, industry trends, competitive dynamics, and channel checks
- Work closely with the PM on portfolio construction, risk assessment, and position sizing
- Develop differentiated views on key secular and company-specific drivers across the software ecosystem
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of long/short buy-side investing experience required
- Demonstrated coverage experience within the software sector
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills
- Proven track record of generating investment ideas and conducting fundamental research
- Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment
- Programming, data analysis, or quantitative research experience is a plus
- Prior experience at a hedge fund or asset management firm preferred
