Logistics Project Manager - High Voltage & Strategic Inventory

The Logistics Project Manager - Critical Equipment & Strategic Inventory is responsible for planning, coordinating, tracking, storing, preserving, and deploying high-value capital equipment across the QTS portfolio. The role serves as a primary logistics liaison among Strategic Procurement, Construction, Engineering, OEMs, transportation providers, warehouse operators, and project teams to help ensure critical equipment is delivered safely, stored properly, maintained in accordance with manufacturer requirements, and available to support project schedules. The position retains ownership of strategic inventory and VMI fundamentals while expanding the focus to utility substation equipment, transformers, circuit breakers, medium-voltage equipment, and other long-lead infrastructure assets.

Core Scope of Responsibility

• Critical equipment program management: Coordinate logistics for transformers, breakers, switchgear, medium-voltage equipment, generators, and related infrastructure assets.
• Inventory and asset control: Maintain serial-level visibility, receiving records, bills of lading, packing lists, accessory traceability, inventory status, and deployment readiness.
• Transportation and storage: Manage 3PLs, warehouses, specialized carriers, heavy-haul planning, delivery sequencing, routing and permitting coordination, and storage-yard readiness.
• Equipment preservation: Coordinate OEM storage requirements, warranty-supporting inspections, power or heater needs, battery charging, nitrogen systems, maintenance records, and vendor access.
• Forecasting and reporting: Maintain dashboards and forecasts covering manufacturing, shipment, storage capacity, project allocation, movement status, and priority risks.
• Cross-functional execution: Partner with Procurement, Construction, Engineering, Quality, Commissioning, Operations, OEMs, and project teams to resolve schedule and material risks.
• Process improvement: Develop scalable receiving, storage, preservation, inventory, transfer, and status-reporting processes while improving cost, control, and vendor performance.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, engineering, construction management, business, or equivalent experience
• Minimum five years of experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, inventory management, construction logistics, or capital equipment management
• Experience managing inventory control, warehousing, transportation, and vendor relationships
• Experience with inventory systems, forecasting, tracking, and data analysis
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Strong project coordination, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Data center, utility, energy, industrial manufacturing, construction, or infrastructure experience
• Experience with transformers, switchgear, breakers, generators, or electrical distribution assets
• Heavy-haul, oversize, or specialized transportation experience
• Knowledge of OEM storage, preservation, inspection, and warranty requirements
• Experience with serial-controlled inventory and capital equipment tracking
• Experience managing 3PLs, specialized carriers, warehouses, and technical service providers
