Med Ninjas is seeking a Physician Assistant Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery for a locum tenens job in Lexington, Kentucky.

Position Details

Patient Population: Cardiothoracic surgery patients
Setting: Inpatient / Operating Room
Responsibilities: First assisting in cardiothoracic surgeries, inpatient rounds, ICU and telemetry coverage, and procedures
Required Procedures: CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy, lung resection, vein harvesting, and chest tube placement
EMR System: Epic
Support Staff: Surgical team support
Patient Volume: Approximately 1–2 surgeries daily
Schedule: Weekday coverage, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, with overnight call from 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
Weekend Coverage: 24-hour coverage, 7:00 AM Friday through 7:00 AM Monday, for approximately one weekend per month
Call Requirements: 1–2 call days per week, including overnight call and weekend coverage

November 25 at 7:00 AM – November 30 at 7:00 AM
December 18 at 7:00 AM – December 28 at 7:00 AM
January 22 at 7:00 AM – January 25 at 7:00 AM

February 5 at 7:00 AM – February 8 at 7:00 AM

Submission Requirements

Board certification required
Active Kentucky license highly preferred; candidates willing to obtain a Kentucky license may be considered, subject to facility approval
ACLS, BLS, and DEA required
