We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Litigation Paralegal with experience in insurance defense to support attorneys in all phases of civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of defense-side litigation procedures, including case management, discovery, and trial preparation.
Position Details:
Salary: $80,000-$90,000

Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with all aspects of insurance defense litigation from inception through trial and appeal
Draft, proofread, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence
Manage case files, including organizing and maintaining electronic and physical documents
Coordinate and track discovery, including document production, interrogatories, and requests for admission
Prepare deposition summaries, medical summaries, and chronologies
Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial dates
Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, experts, and opposing counsel
Maintain case calendars and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural rules
Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, trial binders, and witness files
Review and analyze medical records, billing records, and other claim-related documentation
E-file documents in state and federal courts
Required Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; Paralegal certificate preferred
3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, with a focus on insurance defense
Familiarity with state and federal court rules and procedures
Experience handling high-volume caseloads
Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software
Strong knowledge of discovery processes and litigation timelines
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in areas such as personal injury defense, premises liability, or workers’ compensation
Familiarity with medical terminology and records review
Trial experience supporting attorneys in courtroom settings
Experience using e-filing systems (e.g., PACER, state-specific systems)
Knowledge of billing software and time entry
