A bit about us:
Our client is a nationally recognized immigration law firm advising corporations, startups, universities, hospitals, and research institutions on complex U.S. immigration matters, with a practice built exclusively around immigration law. In addition to its core petition and sponsorship work, the firm runs an active litigation practice that pursues federal court remedies for unreasonably delayed cases and defends clients in agency enforcement matters. The litigation team works in close coordination with the firm's broader case teams, giving support staff visibility into both the administrative and courtroom sides of immigration practice.
Why join us?
This role is built for a paralegal who wants exposure to federal court practice within an immigration-focused environment, rather than a generic litigation support role. You'll support attorneys through the full arc of a case from evaluating whether a matter is ripe for litigation, through drafting and filing, to tracking outcomes on behalf of corporate clients, institutions, and individuals navigating high-stakes immigration issues.
The work is varied and substantive from the start, and the team places real weight on training paralegals into long-term, skilled contributors rather than treating the role as purely administrative. Staff describe the culture as collaborative, with management that listens to feedback on workload and case pacing. Compensation is competitive with the market for immigration litigation support roles.
Job Details
Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certificate a plus but not mandatory
Prior litigation support experience required; immigration litigation experience (mandamus actions, APA challenges, federal court filings) strongly preferred
Familiarity with employment-based immigration matters (H-1B, L-1, PERM, adjustment of status, or similar) helpful but not required
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to track multiple case deadlines across administrative and court timelines simultaneously
Skilled at legal research and cite-checking, and comfortable assisting with brief and motion preparation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with attorneys, courts, and government agencies
High attention to detail in managing case files, exhibits, and filing deadlines
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while staying closely coordinated with the litigation team
