Description

We are a professional staffing firm, working with organizations across the country to place exceptional candidates. Currently, we have a Litigation Insurance Defense - Legal Assistant opportunity with a well-established South Florida Law Firm.

 This is a Hybrid opportunity.

The Litigation Insurance Defense - Legal Assistant is responsible for the specific duties listed below.

Your specific duties will include:
  • Provide dedicated administrative and litigation support to assigned insurance defense attorneys.
  • Assist with cases from initial assignment through trial, settlement, or resolution.
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and electronically file pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, notices, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with preparation and service of answers, affirmative defenses, motions, notices, subpoenas, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Coordinate and manage attorney calendars, including court appearances, depositions, mediations, hearings, examinations under oath, and client meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case calendars, tickler systems, deadlines, and litigation schedules.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery management, including organizing, reviewing, and maintaining discovery documents and responses.
  • Prepare deposition and hearing materials, including exhibits, indexes, binders, and electronic files.
  • Coordinate depositions, mediations, hearings, inspections, and other litigation-related events.
  • Communicate professionally with insurance carriers, claims adjusters, clients, opposing counsel, courts, witnesses, experts, and other third parties.
  • Assist with obtaining medical records, employment records, incident reports, photographs, statements, and other case-related documentation as needed.
  • Open and maintain electronic and physical case files in accordance with firm procedures.
Required qualifications for the position include:
  • 3+ years of litigation legal assistant experience in insurance defense.
  • Strong understanding of litigation deadlines and the ability to effectively manage multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
  • Experience with electronic filing systems and legal case management software.
Preferred qualifications for the position include:
  • Familiarity with state and federal court procedures.
  • Experience with PerfectLaw software.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
Pay Rate Range: $75,000 - $85, 000 for salaried position.
