Litigation Associate Attorney

Pay: $90,000.00 - $127,000.00 per year

Location: Louisville, CO. This is primarily an in-person opportunity designed for attorneys who value collaboration and direct connection with their team. Our remote-work policy also provides remote Fridays, except the first Friday of each month, plus 20 additional remote workdays per year.

Note: Candidates must have a JD from an accredited law school, an active bar license in Colorado or another U.S. jurisdiction, 1+ year of proven litigation experience, and a genuine desire to practice Indian Law. Candidates with additional experience are welcome, and we will consider qualified attorneys from law firm, in-house, and solo practice backgrounds. The position also requires willingness to travel for hearings, client meetings, and other matters as needed.

Job Description

• Represent clients in tribal, federal, and state litigation matters from strategy through resolution.
• Research complex legal issues and prepare persuasive memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Appear at hearings, trials, depositions, interviews, meetings, and other proceedings.
• Counsel clients on litigation strategy, legal procedures, risk, and potential courses of action.
• Handle matters involving tribal sovereignty, jurisdiction, business, housing, education, taxation, gaming, energy, natural resources, government affairs, and related areas.
• Communicate effectively with tribal clients, courts, opposing counsel, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
• Participate in conferences, seminars, and relationship-building activities that strengthen existing client relationships and create new opportunities.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys while independently managing assignments and deadlines.
• Travel as needed for court proceedings, administrative hearings, and client meetings throughout the United States.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in good standing in Colorado or another U.S. jurisdiction.
• 1+ year of litigation experience.
• Proven litigation, legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Strong interest in developing or continuing a practice in tribal and federal Indian law.
• Excellent professional communication and client-service skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.
• Previous Indian Law or tribal client experience is highly valued but not required.
