About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Liability Claims Manager to take comprehensive ownership of assigned claims from initial assignment through final resolution. In this role, you will evaluate coverage, assess exposure, and develop effective claim resolution strategies across a wide range of liability lines, including:
- Automobile Liability
- General Liability
- Employers Liability
- Public Entity
- Cyber
- Excess & Umbrella
- Construction Liability
You will play a key role in litigation management, collaborate with internal partners, oversee third‑party administrators (TPAs), and ensure adherence to internal policies and industry best practices. Your expertise will drive cost‑effective claim outcomes while providing clear communication around exposures, trends, and recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex liability claims from initial assignment through closure.
- Evaluate coverage and prepare detailed coverage analyses, including reservation of rights and coverage letters.
- Develop and execute strategies for effective claim resolution.
- Manage litigation processes, including mediations, negotiations, and trials.
- Oversee TPA performance and maintain collaborative relationships with external partners.
- Communicate claim exposures and business trends to internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years of experience handling complex liability claims (e.g., Auto, GL, EL, Public Entity, Cyber, Excess/Umbrella, Construction).
- Strong understanding of litigation processes and strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze coverage issues and write coverage correspondence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without future sponsorship requirements.
Preferred
- Experience handling claims in multiple jurisdictions, either with an insurer or TPA.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage a high‑volume caseload.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Professional designations such as AIC, SCLA, or CLCS
