Position Overview

Our client, a premier Am Law firm, is seeking an experienced HR Specialist (Employee Relations) to support its Los Angeles offices in Downtown LA and Century City. This role serves as a trusted partner to firm leadership, managing employee relations matters, advising on performance and workplace issues, and ensuring compliance with California employment law in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations & Investigations: Manage workplace concerns, conduct investigations, and support disciplinary processes while ensuring legal compliance
  • Manager Coaching & Performance: Advise attorneys and business leaders on performance management, PIPs, and employee engagement
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to federal and California employment laws; draft and review HR documentation
  • Onboarding & Training: Lead onboarding, 90-day check-ins, and training for managers on employee relations and compliance topics
  • HR Programs & Operations: Support performance cycles, oversee separations, and contribute to HR policies and firmwide initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 5+ years of HR experience with a strong focus on employee relations
  • Law firm or professional services experience preferred
  • Knowledge of California employment law required
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Hybrid schedule across DTLA and Century City offices
